I loved taking Bella & Brian’s engagement photos at Mckinley Monument in Canton, Ohio!

Bella was actually a bridesmaid in my wedding! She’s like a little little sister to me. Her and Brian met working at the same coffee shop together, how cute! It’s so neat to see how much she has grown as a person even in just the last couple years and get to capture her engagement photos!

McKinley Monument is also where I got my own engagement photos done by Loren Jackson in March 2023! It’s a great location to choose in winter time! The monument provides a unique background that’s needed when all the leaves and flowers are dead.

The shocking thing about this session is that it was early February! It was actually bearable weather to be not wearing a coat! The sun was also shining a little bit. It felt more like spring than being in the dead of winter!

Getting In The Right Head Space Before An Engagement Session

The funny thing about this engagement session was I was trying really hard to focus and not be too scatter-brained. Right before this session, I had an appointment with my then midwife that went horribly! I decided to stop using her as my midwife since she would frequently reschedule and push back my prenatal appointments or cancel our birth classes we had scheduled. She also kept forgetting our birth plan and other details about my prenatal care, and even told the hospital the wrong thing! So I decided to break the news to her after my last prenatal appointment with her, and she was extremely rude and unprofessional.

Anyway, I was trying to forget about that confrontation during this engagement session, which proved to be a nice distraction from that drama, but it was also a little challenging to get in the right head space for the session. I talked to my mom on the phone to vent a little before the session started, which helped! Sometimes you just need your mom to tell you everything’s ok, lol! Still, the engagement session went smoothly and I love how the photos turned out!
