It was so fun getting to do a maternity session as we anxiously await the arrival of Elijah Samuel Dykshoorn! I didn’t hire a photographer and instead my husband and I worked together to create beautiful photos!
It was really nice to feel pretty during this session! I’ve gained about 60 lbs this whole pregnancy, and while I don’t think I look horrible, it is not fun for any woman to gain that much weight! So it’s nice to do things like this that make you feel pretty.
I love the overall aesthetic of these photos. The dress came in super clutch and I was able to wear it thanks to The Co Station’s client closet that I had access to. It goes so nicely with the spring theme and decor of the studio. It also fits my own personal style really well!
The Co Station is my favorite studio to use! I always take all my studio photos here when outdoors is not an option or isn’t preferred. It’s about an hour drive away from where I live, but it’s so worth it! I love the way the studio looks, and it has all the props you’d need to create any type of photo just about. This was my first time using their client closet, which also worked out so nicely!
In these photos I was 36 weeks pregnant. I’m 37 weeks now as I write this. I’m really hoping Elijah comes soon! He could come any day now! Thankfully my third trimester hasn’t been awful, but I’m still anxious to get my body back and meet this precious baby boy.
I am somewhat clueless when it comes to motherhood. I’ve never changed a diaper or cared for an infant much at all. I’ve probably spent less than a couple hours total in my whole life holding a baby. So…this will be a new and exciting experience for me! I can’t wait to have a baby to call my own and snuggle him whenever I want :). I’m also so excited to get to do things how I want to do them, and not have anyone get in the way of that. I’m excited to teach him about God and give him a loving and nurturing home. I’m excited for him to get to meet and play with Buddy, and for him to see the ocean for the first time. I’m excited to see Ryan be an awesome dad. I’m excited to see what his personality is like and the kind of man he’ll grow up to be. And I’m excited I’ll get to play a role in all of that! 🙂
